Lorenzo on pole, Rossi crashes in Valencia

Jorge Lorenzo made a perfect lap to grab a lap record smashing pole for the grand finale in Valencia getting one hand to the title while his team mate Valentino Rossi crashed in Q2 further denting his championship chances.

Lorenzo proved he is the real title favorite with a perfect session destroying opposition completely while the real focus is on the title battle between him and Valentino Rossi. 

Rossi, who will start from the last place on the grid due to his penalty accured in Sepang clash showed some pace in qualifying but crashed out on Turn 4 in his second run ending up last in the session.

Honda riders Marquez and Pedrosa came in 2nd and 3rd to complete the front row while Aleix Espargaro on the Suzuki heads row 2 with Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith alongside. 

Iannone on the Ducati showed some brilliance in FP3 but could manage only 7th on the grid with Pol Espargaro and Andrea Dovisiozo alongside. Petrucci completed top10 while Rossi who was 12th will start from the back of the grid on Sunday.
